As we close the chapter on an exhilarating 2023 at Photoroom, we're thrilled to share a retrospective of our year's journey—a year marked by listening, innovating, and empowering the success of our users. We're excited to share a few highlights from this year, showcasing some new features we launched, the innovative partnerships we formed, and the strides we've made to be the #1 AI photo editor.

In 2023, Photoroom introduced a range of AI-powered features to elevate the image editing experience. For example, our Instant Backgrounds feature uses AI to create realistic, studio-quality product images in seconds, enabling entrepreneurs, creators, and businesses of all sizes to save time and money in photo production and editing. Our Create a Scene feature, otherwise known as "the pencil," allows our users to effortlessly customize backgrounds with a written prompt, such as putting an earring on "a woman's ear," so you can create any background you imagine from the comfort of your home with a limited budget.

For users new to crafting prompts, Instant Background's "Suggested" prompt leverages AI to create a background prompt perfectly adapted to your object. If you have an idea for your photos but don't know how to put it into words, you can now upload your own images or choose one from our stock library, and our AI will use it as inspiration to generate a personalized image aligned with your vision. This is currently live in the web app (and soon on mobile.)

Furthermore, the Instant Shadows feature adds a new dimension of realism, creating photos that are visually appealing and have depth, perfect for listing on e-commerce websites and marketplaces.

To enhance productivity, especially for businesses with many product images, we've introduced Instant Backgrounds and Instant Shadows in Batch Mode so you can maintain a uniform branded look at scale while significantly speeding up workflow.

These are some examples of Photoroom's AI-powered tools aimed at increasing efficiency and unlocking a world of creative possibilities, ensuring that your images are not just seen but truly stand out.

In addition to new AI innovations, the commitment to continuous quality improvement is at the heart of Photoroom's product updates this year to boost efficiency and consistency. Our enhanced, faster Batch Mode is a game-changer for those looking to list and sell products quickly, making the tedious process much faster without compromising quality.

We've also refined the consistency of backgrounds, making it simpler than ever to maintain a cohesive aesthetic across all your images. We introduced more intuitive methods for switching backgrounds, offering a smoother, more user-friendly experience and allowing quick edits with just a few clicks.

Recognizing the importance of a global user base, we've added multilingual captions and suggested scenes, catering to our international users and fostering a more inclusive platform. Additionally, we've expanded our in-app offerings with more sales-ready templates, emojis, and other creative elements, providing an extensive toolkit for personalizing and enhancing images in a fun and engaging way.

These reflect our dedication to delivering a high-quality solution for all your photo editing needs.

This past year, Photoroom has also unlocked endless possibilities for our new business and brand partners in diverse industries. In the entertainment industry alone, we've collaborated in creating multiple brand activations that drove significant buzz.

For instance, the Barbie selfie generator created with Photoroom's API has become a viral sensation, capturing the imagination of millions of users worldwide. The feedback has been outstanding:

Similarly, our partnership with Netflix has led to the creation of customized cover photos for the hit series Black Mirror, offering a novel way for fans to engage with the show. We’ve also been at the cusp of cultural moments, working with Solarflare on a Hennessy campaign celebrating the 50-year anniversary of Hip Hop. Our impact in the film and entertainment industry also extends to generating personalized album covers for a global music sensation and Time's Person of the Year.
