The best things in life are three

International Threesome Month is a new global awareness month that celebrates the genius of threesomes–and launches September 1st. To mark this momentous occasion, Photoroom polled 1,050 US consumers and 1,109 UK consumers to find the best trios ever in food, music, screen entertainment, romance and business.

Here are the results

🍔 Best food threesome

  • Burger, soda and fries (27.5%) topped the US poll, ahead of BLT (Bacon Lettuce Tomato (15.3%) and spaghetti, meatballs and tomato sauce (9.1%).

  • The UK chose Sunday roast as their national threesome dish. Roast beef, roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding got 21.6% of the UK vote, ahead of eggs, bacon, sausages (15.0%) and fish, chips and mushy peas (14.9%).

🔉 Best music threesome

  • The Supremes (21%) were named the best American music threesome of all time, ahead of ZZ Top (18%) and Nirvana (14%).

  • UK-born sibling trio the Bee Gees claimed the title of top musical trio in the UK with 33.4% of the vote, ahead of The Police (18.2%), and 90s sensation the Sugababes (10.6%).

🎞️ Best on-screen threesome

  • Star Wars’ iconic threesome Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo (13.4%) came out on top in the US poll, followed by Rachel, Monica, Phoebe (12.8%) of Friends fame, and Kirk, Spock and McCoy (9.9%) of Star Trek.

  • British sitcom Fawlty Towers took the top spot in the UK with farcical trio Basil, Sybil and Manuel claiming 17.6% of the vote, ahead of Harry, Ron, Hermione (14.5%) of Harry Potter and Rachel, Monica, Phoebe (12.8%) of Friends.

❤️ Best romantic threesome

  • Scarlett O'Hara, Rhett Butler, Ashley Wilkes (21.5%) of Gone with the Wind was the US fan favourite. Ahead of Jack, Rose, Cal (20.9%) of Titanic, and Bella, Edward, Jacob (11.8%) in Twilight.

  • The UK love for Titanic still goes on, with Jack, Rose and Cal rated top romantic threesome (21.6%). Bridget Jones, Mark Darcy, Daniel Cleaver (17.9%) of Bridget Jones took second place, and Scarlett, Rhett and Ashley (16.7%) of Gone with the Wind came in third.

🖥️ Best business threesome

The one category US and UK respondents agreed upon was the best cofounder trio.

  • Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne, co-founders of Apple, topped both the US (44.1%) and UK (47.4%) polls, ahead of Youtube founders Steve Chen, Chad Hurley, and Jawed Karim (21.1% and 22.3% respectively).

  • Third place goes to Paypal co-founders Peter Thiel, Max Levchin, Luke Nosek (12.1% and 12.3%).
